Proposals received so far, with the deadline only a few minutes away....

6.1 Proposal 1 – Team Registration

On behalf of the ADPL Committee, I propose the following amendment to Section 9: Registration.

Delete from part iv - “Teams are permitted to sign a maximum of two players out with Arbroath and District Areas.”

Amend part v - from “Teams are permitted to sign a maximum of two players that are registered to anIM Area, which is not Arbroath. Players in this category are also not eligible to play in any ADPL local events. This includes, but not limited, to events such as Cliffburn Singles, Portcullis Singles, ADPL Singles and Doubles events. Players within this category remain welcome to play in the league. Teams are restricted to two players registered to an alternative IM Area or two ‘out of town’ players, or one of each restriction. i.e. if a player from Arbroath registered to play IM’s in Aberdeen then that player would count as one of the two ‘alternative IM registered’ or ‘out of town’ players.”

to, “Players registered to another IM Area will not be eligible to compete in the ADPL Singles or ADPL Doubles. Players in this category can play in any other event the ADPL host.”

6.2 Proposal 2 – Relaxation to Finals Day Dress Code

I’d like to propose the following amendment to the Constitution, particularly Section 11 Tournaments, part xi.

Given the time of year that we host finals day, I’m proposing that relaxation of the dress code from dress trousers and shoes. In my opinion, players should wear a collared top, as per the current requirements. However, players can wear shorts and trainers, but no denim is permitted. Shorts should be smart/casual.

Proposal 6.3 - Special Dispensation
Hi bash like to put in proposal that at 67 years of age that I can still play in tournaments in Arbroath (Singles and Doubles) after playing In the league for at least 35 years with Railway and Merchants teams and feeding the all my bakery goods for many years. Hope everyone can support me in this proposal for special dispensation.

ADPL AGM REMINDER:

AGM THURS 25th JULY

DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS THURSDAY 18th JULY

ADPL AGM 2024/25

We are hosting our AGM on Thursday 25th July 2024, starting at 7.30pm. The venue is the Royal British Legion - Upstairs Hall.

Any AGM proposals should be made in writing and submitted to any member of the Committee a full seven days in advance of the date of the meeting. Just to be clear, the latest a proposal can be received and considered for discussion is 7.30pm on Thursday 18th July 2024.

Proposals will be collated then posted onto the ADPL Website in advance of the meeting to ensure the members can discuss the proposals before deciding on how to vote.
